Teacher James and his fiancée Lucy wanted a wedding with a difference. They had both been married before so wanted something totally different from the first time round. It was also important to them on this special day that they were surrounded by their closest family and friends. |

They wanted to hold their wedding in the beautiful Lecrín Valley – just south of the ancient city of Granada. The valley has a wealth of lovely holiday homes to rent. It is situated equidistant from the beaches of the Costa Tropical, the white washed artisan villages of the Alpujarras and the culture and history of Granada. |
This idyllic setting offered all their guests the opportunity to take some time out and fly over for a wedding with a difference. They all stayed in the village houses available near to the wedding venue and had time to be tourists as well as wedding guests. |

James and Lucy completed the civil ceremony in the UK before heading for Spain. They then spent a wonderful few days relaxing and catching up with their friends and family in a way that traditional weddings never provide. |
The wedding venue was a large village house that slept 10 people and had a stunning courtyard garden and pool. The bridal party used the house as their base and on the day everyone walked up to the local church for a blessing of the happy couple before the festivities began. |

James and Lucy chose to have a cold Spanish flavours buffet style wedding meal. A bar was set up in the courtyard and guests were served with drinks. Lucy wanted “hot colours” for her colour theme so silk bought in India was used to dress the tables which were set up in the courtyard with colourful umbrellas for shade and hot coloured Barbarossa daisies for table decorations, bridesmaids’ posies and Lucy’s bouquet. |
A Spanish guitarist set the mood during the afternoon followed by a disco that helped everyone rock the night away! |

Even the children were not forgotten - a special menu, fruit cocktail drinks and games were organized. As a team they used paints, glitter and coloured papers to make a tribute for the happy couple. |
The bridal party had nothing to do the next morning as everything was cleared and cleaned and BBQs were set up for a family lunch – all before they got up. |

Casa Amelia helped James and Lucy with all their arrangements, from their location and guest accommodation through menu planning and catering to all the smaller details including entertainment, decorations, flowers, hairdressing, beauty treatments and a special programme for the children. |
| Not including the venue and accommodation James and Lucy’s wedding costs amounted to under 5000 euros. |
